Bank of the Lowcountry Competes for a Cause
Walterboro, SC, December 13, 2024– In the first annual Competition for a Cause, Bank of the Lowcountry embraced the competitive spirit of the Palmetto Bowl to serve the community this Thanksgiving. The bank hosted a week-long Clemson vs Carolina donation drive to raise food and money for local organizations serving lowcountry communities.
“Our company is excited to serve our local communities,” Marc Bogan, CEO of Bank of the Lowcountry commented. “As an organization, we are very blessed, and we wanted to take the opportunity to give back to those less fortunate. The Palmetto Bowl is a great SC tradition, and we hope to make our Competition for a Cause another great tradition”.
Monetary donations and 10 boxes of non-perishables most needed during the holiday season were collected and matched by Bank of the Lowcountry. Donations were distributed amongst three local organizations throughout the bank’s markets – In His Name Colleton, Lowcountry Food Bank, and United Way of the Lowcountry. The drive ended on Palmetto Bowl Eve with a full day of appreciation as each branch thanked customers for their participation with treats and snacks.
“Our customers at Bank of the Lowcountry are the best! We appreciate their generosity as we come together to support members of our community who may need a helping hand this season,” stated Cark Kilpatrick, CBO of Bank of the Lowcountry. “We’re inspired by the goodwill and care shown by our employees and customers alike and are proud to match their contributions to the amazing organizations”.
With the successful kickoff of its newest tradition, Bank of the Lowcountry is committed to growing Competition for a Cause into a much-anticipated event for employees and customers to come together through lighthearted rivalry to uplift our community.
